a good spot to reach the island of 'rügen'; there is a traffic light where all cars (comming from stralsund- city center) that want to reach the newly built 'rügenbrücke' (the bridge) have to stop. stand in the middle of the road where there is a paved (elevated) slip. it should not take longer than 20 to 30 minutes to get to 'bergen' (the islands capital) from here.―Anonymous

Walked along the road since Netto (in hindsight just go through Brandshagen town), first proper looking spot and got a car within 5 minutes, still not the best road for hitchhiking as barely any shoulders (there's an old road entrance here where the car can stop by)―Anonymous

you can get off at stralsund-grunhufe (i think thats what its called) train station, one stop from city center and stand on the bus stop. decent traffic, a few people stopped but mostly locals, got a ride going to rostock in about 20 minutes. mind you that was at 7 pm!―Anonymous
