I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. Thanks Catarina and Zaly :)

Perfect spot for finding a ride. We just stood with signs right in front of the exit from the parking. Really good for Vienna/Bratislava/Győr direction. We got a very funny ride. The story is not shareable for safety and legal reasons, but it would make a good chapter in traveling book.

First we were trying to find a ride at KFC exit, right next to the highway entrance. Looked like a good spot, but nobody stopped, maybe it was because the Mol gas station was closed. Definitely would be easier if it was opened. Then we change to this bus stop and we got a ride in less than 10 minutes.

Probably the best spot for hitchhiking from Budapest towards Vienna/Bratislava/Prague, you have to take a train from Budapest city centre and then a 3 km walk to get here though. Used thumbs up and sign Wien/Bratislava, snatched a ride after like 90 minutes (2 people), a single seat ride was offered to us after like 30 minutes.

At the end of Zöldfa utca is the best place to the direction of Tinnye or Piliscsaba

The service station has a big parking lot for trucks and a decent petrol station. Most cars go to Budapest. If you want to go further wait max. 5 hours

I have used this place 2 times to go to Vienna, and i've never waited more than 20 min. But it's important to have a sign.

The way to go Budapest. The driver took a low frequented petrol station (500 m norther). So we walked down here. Cars who don't want to pay fee, use this road.

This is the last petrol station before the Budapest ring M0. If your driver goes into Budapest but you want to continue, this is the place to get out.
Lot of bulgarian and romanian cars.

If you want to go towards north-east (M3) its not that important to get out, since people taking that road go through the city, 'cuz the ring takes more time.

This is an entrance for autostrada from 101 (or old 1) and also a small rest place. The traffic isn't so high, but there are a lot of foreign people (Austrians, Germans)
So if you want to go to Veinna, or Germany, it is an ideal place.

This is the LAST petrol station where you can get off from trucks, because they always turn down to M0 ring. So if you want to go to Budapest, this is your last parking place to get off the vehicle. It is always easy to get a ride from here to BP.

Because I wanted to get to Romania, i put it here the written sign RO, because at summer time, in august, a lot of Romanian goes back to their country. so in 5 minute i got a car straight to Sibiu, and my final destination was Brasov, so just 100 km until my last stop.
