My friend and me where trying to catch a ride to Innsbruck and got one to Sterzing. This exact spot is really good but a little far from the town, we walked all the way till here and in the afternoon the traffic wasn't heavy, but enough.
On the way from Brixen there are some other decent spots but none of them are good as this.

I was going South and was dropped off near here by my last ride. Took me a long time to get someone to stop but at least there is a lot of traffic and a long straight strecth of road.―Anonymous

Go out of the train station and cross the street. You will see a small supermarket and a parking place in front of you. Cars can stop here, but you should have a sign as traffic is just passing through. Got a ride to the border on Brenner after 20 minutes.―Anonymous

There is a long extra lane for the bus stop where drivers can see you and have plenty of room to stop. Most of them are driving quite fast on the other hand.―Anonymous

Gas station in the direction of Austria. Lots of traffic, but you have to traverse a farmer's field by jumping a fence. When coming from the train station, you can traverse the tracks by walking toward Brixen a few hundred meters.―Anonymous

In the direction of Innsbruck... used sign "A22/Innsbruck". Good spot because the cars can easyly pull over and also it is quite small, th ecars go slow, there is a lot of eyecontact. Was hiking alone.―Ponyboy
