Indeed very good spot, space for cars on a parking right after, but most of all there can be a lot of traffic, so cars are very slow.Gives you enough time to charm them with smiles ;)

Not easy to go to this place, but when you go through the field it is a quite fine spot to go to Milan from nearby villages. We had a sign Milano. A guy took us to a metro station, by metro we went to the southern part of Milano to Romolo station and continued to Genova from there.―TwoThumbsTravel

Great spot, people see you from afar. If there are no cars in the parking spot for dropping of goods you are good. Someone stopped when i put the sign up instantly.―Tijmen

Amazing spot. People were asking us where we want to go while we were writing signs. Waited with the signs „Luzern“, „Gotthard“ and „Italy“ for around 40min and got a lift all the way to Como, Italy.―Liva

This is a good gas station to get a ride into Switzerland. People here go all the way to Basel and at least through the Gotthard tunnel.―Anonymous

Got a ride to Milano in 5 minutes and a ride to Bellinzona in about an hour. Good place for both directions. Give a smile to the station attendants so they wont bother you.―Simonkfr

A bus stop. It seemed like a good place (there was a long traffic jam before the border) but no cars stopped even though we had our cute faces on...In the end we walked until the border and were quite lucky there!

Many cars passing on the road but not many stop at the gas station. We were lucky that we encountered a young local who took us further up and closer to the border....―Anonymous

We were hitchiking with a "Germany" sign for like 15 minutes and got a ride to Zurich. The driver was going all the way to Strasbourg though. It was a French car. Overall, there's a lot of Switz cars, some French and German. Everyone's going north.Side note: Be careful, in Switzerland the EU phone tariffs don't apply and the prices for phone services skyrocket. Make sure to make your plans before you enter.

We needed to get to Germany. Most of the cars were Italians, a few Switz cars as well. After 2 hours, we changed our "Germany" sign for "Como" (the town just before the Switz borders) and got a ride in 20 minutes to a petrol station in front of Como. That's my experience. However, two friends who started hitchhiking right after we got the ride and used the same signs got stuck at the petrol station for 7 hours with no lift anywhere north towards the A9 highway.
Overall, I would say it's a good place theoretically, but Italians simply won't take you. If you need to go north, hitch towards Como and stop at the petrol station just in front of Como. There all the cars go north and it's easier to catch a ride there. There's way more Switz. French and German cars there.
