brilliant. first car i asked was going to bolzano, second took me to milan (but both were taking a longer dinner break). good traffic, showers, dunno how easy to access on foot if not coming from the highway.

We waited an hour and a half, at first out of view of the Tamoil gas station employees, but then it turned out they were cool with us asking for rides from there. multiple people offered to pick us up, but mostly not going far (to San Giuliano Milanese) or the wrong way (Bergamo).

We were little lucky that one truck took us straight to Milano. This is a good spot even for trucks to stop.

if you want to go south get a sign with A1 or "Autostrade del sole" on it

This place was awful to me. The gas station guy is EXTREMELY unfriendly, as he threw me out insulting me and yelling at me just cause I was politely asking drivers if they were going to the highway. I gave up after 1 hour and a half.

There are friendly people, we just ask them, that we would like to go with them, and lot of them was friendly, and help us :)

It's very easy to reach! when you turn right at the bridge continue to walk you ll find an open door (07-2014)! but keep in mind there's a new highway that connects Milan to Brescia directly without passing to Bergamo! it's faster but this spot should still working good!

End of August at noon
Looks like a good spot, many cars going on the highway.
Not many cars at the petrol station to ask, but better than just standing there with a sign.

It´s a good place but the problem is that most of the cars are going to MIlano.I was there about 75 mins. I asked every single car that arrived there and then got a lift to Verona. The spot is worth trying, esy to find and if you get lucky a truck may take you far away

This is the 2nd spot described at the "East towards Verona" section of the "Milano" hitchwiki page (http://hitchwiki.org/en/Milan). The directions to get here are the following:

"An alternative and easier option is to take the metro (green line) to Cologno Nord. It doesn't really matter which exit you leave the station by, as long as you are walking north. Follow the road for about 5 or 10 minutes until you get to the beginning of the bridge over the motorway. Rather than actually crossing the bridge, you turn right, off the road, and walk along the raised grassy area beside the motorway. After 4 or 5 minutes you will have reached a gas station."

I followed them and got there with no problems whatsoever. Even though it's a small place and not too many cars or trucks stop there, I got a lift in about 30 minutes!

petrol station(esso) just before the A1 . The first person I asked took me to bologna, so maybe I was lucky but I still think that a lot of people stop there before going south. to go there you must take a bus or tram to Piazza Corvetto.

A good spot to go south (A1). Take the metro to Cascina Gobba, then walk to the gas station (you'll see it behind the metro station). I got a lift in 10 minutes asking truck drivers

Point just after toll station heading Milano. There is a spot where you can stay outside the road and all the cars are going to see you! Perfect place, but I don't know how o get there, I was just left here by another car.

Good spot to go out of Milan, as said by the other, need to jump over fences but managed to find a truck quite quickly!
