Follow the instruction other people wrote in order to reach this spot. Personally, I bought a €2,6 train ticket from Turin to Alpignano then walked for 20 minutesI was holding a sign with "France" written on it and the second person I asked got me a lift to Susa Autoporto, where he was heading to to work. It probably helped that we were both Italians but I will forever remember this as my first ever hitchhiking lift and I can only thank this community for the help

On theory the spot seems to be good: most of the cars are moving to south/east and few of them to the city. However, I waited so a long time with little success. I had a "Genova" sign with me and after more than two hours (Saturday, morning) I got a short 60km ride.―BDalas

I was trying to get to Milan but I couldn't find anyone, it was all locals. Eventually I got a ride to Torino porta Susa and took the train. Getting to Turin is very easy and sometimes more south but not north―Peddy42

two details about how to reach the petrol station: exact name of bus stop is "Torino 315" (or few no. up or down) --- I stopped at "Torino" AND had to walk for 3 km to reach via Vermea :-than, correct direction: get via Vermea, 100m on the left of the bus stop, go thru for 1 km approx, check on the left for Via Napoli, do not take the overpass but the small country road on the left --- you already see the petrol station from the beginning of via Napoli :-)
DO NOT TAKE VIA GOZZANO!!! they must have changed the street name disposition recently, it would take you on the wrong path --- from the beginning of via Gozzano I could see the petrol station on the opposite direction :-

Waited 2 hours early evening for a lift to Milan (returning skier from the alps). In that time 4 different police cars stopped, one informed us that we shouldn't be hitching from there but left us alone, the rest just ignored us. Whilst the police were there most drivers ignored us. Very friendly petrol staff though who asked friendly truck drivers if they could take us.―JoeMclo

No much space to stop, but one guy stopped, although he went other direction. You have to do it near to the traffic lights, otherwise the Police warm you. After 3 hours, I decided to take a bus.―Anonymous
