In South Korea usually nobody's hitch-hiking and it's not common at all! Still people can pick you up out of curiosity and also because they are really very helpful. You can try, but don't be surprised if nobody stops.―Anonymous

The toll gates 300 meter further on might be the better spot. However, as always, with a sign in Korean you'll never have to wait for long. Korea is probably one of the best countries to hitchhike in.―Tomtom

Waited for about 20 mins before I got a direct ride. Make a sign in Korean if you are directly going to Busan or Daegu.―Anonymous

Good spot to go to Daegu. We (a couple) waited first at the exit of the SA but wasn't good place so we moved closer to the tolls gate and it worked better. We had a direct ride to Daegu.Thumb+sign.
