After 15 minutes a couple took me to a border, where after not too long wait I got a ride to Riga.

One male 40+, no sign, one small and one big bagpacks, rain.I was hitching on the smaller, parallel road. There was very little traffic. On a map I noticed a bus stop on the highway (strange thing, but it looks Lithuanians do it). Plenty of space to stop and good visibility. Nice spot.
After 45 minutes, I got a ride to Posvalys. Good ride on my way to Riga.

Stood at the end of the gas station to catch the road + people leaving the station and quickly found a ride a bit forwards. Probably better to get a ride to Latvia from here though, than to get shorter ones.―VeikkaK

Towards Biržai, ideal spot, loads of low speed cars all going to there the least, wait times of 5-10 minutes, you could even go Biržai-Germaniškis/Skaistkalne-Riga if you want to go around the via baltica―estohiker

Towards north, uncomfortable for cars to stop, poorly plowed during winter, especially on mornings most cars go either to Pasvalys or Ažuolyne, i gave up on this spot after a hour and started to walk along the road―estohiker

Tough spot. Not a busy gas station but you can hitch the road from the gas station exit. Didn't have any luck to Latvia from here, only found a ride to the next village. If you wait long enough, getting to Riga shouldn't be a problem though.―VeikkaK
