Its probably not that good of a spot, but we got really lucky and second car we asked were on a way back home to France and they were willing to take us close to the exact place in Rotterdam we wanted to visit.

one boy midday of cold Wednesday. Very easy to reach via the nr 1 metro from the center (take till end station P+R Luchtbal). Cars go pretty ast but enough space to stop.

I use this place always when I departure in the direction of Utrecht (and Germany). Done it already 10 times. The place has additional lane that is closed where cars can stop easily so it's a good spot!

Fuel station 't Hoekske. Lots of traffic direction Rotterdam. Short wait.

Good spot for going south: between the traffic lights and the emergency side road. Good because it has loads and loads of traffic. Downside is little place to stop.

This petrol station is not very large, but all traffic here is going south and a lot of them head for Belgium, so you will easily get a hike to Antwerp.

Ok place. Lady of the service station offered me a piece of cardboard, without asking. Asked some young swiss guys but they were full, did offer to take just my girlfriend though...

Waited about an hour at 7:30am on a monday (because of the amount of local traffic) but a friendly belgium guy took us to the big service station just over the border.

Average for rides to Roosendaal/Bergen op Zoom, not much traffic, got lucky after about 30-40 minutes.

This spot is quite trycky to reach, but there is a lot of "not that fast traffic" with good visibility and a good place for the cars to stop.

I was really surprised how rude where the people though, in just 10 minuts I had a dozen of people giving me fingers or insulting me. :( That was the first time in many years of hitch hicking all over Europe !

Low chance to make a car stop. You're going to try and get a ride while people are waiting for the traffic lights and thus have stopped already. Watch out for the buslane and for waterpools on the road. Trucks don't come splashing slow.
