complete asses the fokes at the Shell.Not willing to help , when you are trying to ask people they are using the intercom to ask you to go away.
When you dont they call the police.
Next to the highway its a bit better to use the thumb but still not that good.

Had no troubles with Shell or cops here. People mostly going south towards Amsterdam or Den Haag. To go north I had to go 3km up the N9 to the BP―Jxroussel

Just after the entry of the petrol station there's much space for cars to stop and since the exit is on the other side they see you when they get in so they have some time to decide if they take you or not. First time we hitched thumbs up to Amsterdam we waited like 10 minutes, second time we hitched with a cardboard "to the south/naar het zuiden" and we waited for 15 minutes to get a car to Breda.―Anonymous

I waited like 20mins for a ride, this is a nice place.the bus stop is nearby too so if you ask the bus driver nicely its free. but this is a kiss and ride stop. with the directions too Heerhugowaard/Alkmaar or Middenmeer/Afsluitdijk (going to Friesland)―HikerDave
