Started hitchiking here on a Tuesday at about 8am. Just ask the cars if they are going direction Goes. Got a ride within 5 minutes to the gasstation at Arnemuiden. Here traffic from Middelburg as well as Vlissingen passes by.

Our starting point to get to Ghent, we were standing close to the gas station (on the gas station itself it's not allowed) with a sign "Terneuzen." Even though Zeeland is quite difficult to hitchhike, this is quite a good place for going to Vlissingen or Terneuzen and beyond.

I live in Middelburg and tried to get to Antwerp. This is probably the best place to start hitchhiking in Middelburg... But still it took us about 1:30h to get a ride.
Guess Middelburg is just not the place to be for a hitchhiker. :P

1 hr wait only brought me as far as a petrol station just outside Goes.

Recently a new road has been constructed, and some of the traffic from the city might actually go straight on this road, and won't pass this spot anymore.

Not much traffic at all, still got a ride after 20 minutes to a busier petrol station, but it was clearly luck.

Low traffic friday afternoon, still got a ride after 10 minute wait. No sign needed. Very open to the elements and middle of nowhere so only wait here with patience and good weather!

Direction: Breda, Rotterdam, Antwerp (Belgium), Gent (Belgium).
After the traffic light, there's a small area where cars can stop, and a pertrol station as well. The traffic is both going to the A58 (direction breda), and to a toll-road in the direction of belgium (trough the 'westerschelde tunnel).
To find a car in the direction of Gent took us 20 minutes.
