There is a small space for cars to stop on the turning lane to drive in to the camp ground, but unfortunately cars go 100kms/h here and it's difficult for cars to stop. It is possible though and we got a ride to Timaru from here after an hour wait. Otherwise get up early before everyone leaves the camp ground and ask around for a lift―Falc
