I also got stuck on this border but the next morning (after waking up in a shed near the gas station) I got a ride from the first trucker I asked. Got to outside Nis.

It's pretty much easy to find car towards Beograd or Nis. All the cars passing in of you and you can ask directly to drivers. Me and my mate found direct car to Nis, Other two friends found directly to Beograd.

Petrol station on the road from Belgrade to Sofia. Cars going both directions stop there, as it's open 24/7. One of the workers found me a ride to Kratovo in the early morning. Also saw a local hitch-hiker using it.

Helpfull boarder guards. A lot of traffic, most to Skopje or Greece.
The boarder guard organized us a lift in a bus in the direction of Ohrid.

Direction Kriva Palanka and Bulgaria, traffic is not very high, but the spot itself is fine.

We were heading towards Kumanovo and Sedbia. Not the best spot. Cars are going a little bit fast. But after a while some great couple took us to the borders even though they live in Kumanovo

We just crossed the borders by foot and did not even start to hitchhike and some guy asked us if we want to go to Vranje. So we went there

slow traffic that was halted by the border guards. god for us bcs the people could read our sign and we could interact with them. it's important to address the people directly. there is enough chances to so so.
border guards were semi-friendly, those who controlled our passports were fine, however one chased us when we we're eating our breakfast peacefully on the bench close to the street
