Decent spot for getting out of Stavanger (towards the south). There were a lot of ongoing roadworks around so that probably didn't help.

A guy and a girl on a Saturday afternoon without a sign. A nice spot on the way to Kristiansand with enough space on the bus stop, a lot of traffic, and cars going rather slow. We got a ride to a small village further on the road.

A guy and a girl on a Friday at noon with a sign. We waited not that long at the exit to go south as there is no other good place to stop around, and a lot of people passing there seemed to go south too. Nobody stopped though, so we gave up, went to eat and contemplated taking a bus, but a nice guy came to us and said he was going to Ålgård and could get us out of here. If possible, try not to get here for hitchhiking...

A guy and a girl on a Friday at noon, with a sign. This spot is good if you get stranded in the area : cars don't go fast and there is enough space to stop. But a lot of people only go to Stavanger. Two cars stopped and the last one took us to Forus, south of Stavanger, but we got stranded there so, if you can, try to have ride further, like Ålgård.

A guy and a girl on a Friday afternoon without a sign. The higher spots were inaccessible due to roadwork, so we walked to this one instead, which I think is for the best : there is a lot of space to stop and cars go slow because of the roundabout. There seem to be a lot of buses passing through this busstop, but we quickly got a ride to Stavanger anyway.

Not much traffic stopping here, but asked around and found a family going to Sandnes.

Good Spot. Easy to get a ride to the ferry or with a bit of Luck all the Way up to Haugesund or Bergen. Both times i hitchhiked from there i got a ride within 30-40 min. If you‘re coming from Stavanger it makes sense to take the Bus to out there.

it's a tough one cause there's still a lot of local traffic, but a lot of cars passing by and def a good spot for cars to stop safely.
