Decent spot for getting out of Stavanger (towards the south). There were a lot of ongoing roadworks around so that probably didn't help.―klawik

A guy and a girl on a Saturday afternoon without a sign. A nice spot on the way to Kristiansand with enough space on the bus stop, a lot of traffic, and cars going rather slow. We got a ride to a small village further on the road.―JumpingRabbit

A guy and a girl on a Friday at noon with a sign. We waited not that long at the exit to go south as there is no other good place to stop around, and a lot of people passing there seemed to go south too. Nobody stopped though, so we gave up, went to eat and contemplated taking a bus, but a nice guy came to us and said he was going to Ålgård and could get us out of here. If possible, try not to get here for hitchhiking...―JumpingRabbit

A guy and a girl on a Friday at noon, with a sign. This spot is good if you get stranded in the area : cars don't go fast and there is enough space to stop. But a lot of people only go to Stavanger. Two cars stopped and the last one took us to Forus, south of Stavanger, but we got stranded there so, if you can, try to have ride further, like Ålgård.―JumpingRabbit

we hiked from here to Lauvvik and got a ride after 15 minutes, it's a bus stop on Skippergatta with good visibility and medium traffic but some of the cars from Sandnes drive to major road 13 (National Tourist Route)―Anonymous

Not a bad place to get a ride in the direction of the ferry to Preikestolen. Not so much traffic, but didn't take too long to get a ride to the ferry terminal.―Anonymous

Bus stop for hitching south. A bit too much traffic for my taste, though. This might be your spot if you want to hitch from Stavanger or Sandnes southwards. If you're leaving Stavanger you may need to take a bus or train Sandnes and then walk to here (5 km from the centre. Fares are expensive but you can often get away without a ticket especially by bus.―Anonymous
