I was waiting at this place with the sign: Suwalki, there is a good place for stopping because there is a stop for trucks with carwash, restaurant, gas station. It was in the morning Sunday and there was not so much cars but after 20 min, one driver saw me and my sign and he stopped, I said that I go to Poland, he said that he go to Warsaw and I said that I need only to the ELK city and we went well.―Roman21

Not a bad spot. A truck leaving the parking lot across the road from Lidl waved at me and got me to a gas station, where I switched cars with one of his friends. I think you might be able to get a ride to Augustów from here relatively quickly.―martih

To be honest, from my experience, Szczuczyn is not a great place for a hitchhiker. Multiple roads go in the same direction from here, and cars split. I wanted to reach Suwałki, so it might have been better to take the highway rather than a local ride to Grajewo. If going from the south and able to do so, avoid Szczuczyn and Grajewo at all.―martih

This is a good spot, but you have a dilemma here when going north. You can take either the highway exit or the local one; they are right next to each other. I chose the local route, and it might have been a mistake. Both of them have plenty of space to stop.―martih

It's almoust dead point for hhing - no chance for a truck to stop, only small car can do this. And you also cannot leave this point by foot, because for 10-12 kilometers its very narrow and fast speed road with no place for drivers to stop, even if they wanted to do it. Try to avoid to stop here and if the car goes to Scczuczin, try to get out somewhere before it in a better spot.―Anonymous

Even though all GPS guided cars go through Bialystok now due to better pavement, this place still gets decent traffic to and from the Baltics by veteran drivers.―AnsisMalins

Got stuck here for hours, no one here goes north. We ended up backtracking to Sczcuczyn where we found a lift at the McDonalds as it was dinnertime
