surprisingly good spot for getting out of the city, you only need to ride a tram and walk a bit to get there. a big parking lot for cars to stop comfortably, people driving very slowly. mostly locals but they'll take you to the border crossing

Bus stop in the direction Gorzow Wielkopolski, Zielona Gora, Wroclaw and Poznan. You can get here by buses 79, 73(Z) from Basen Gorniczy where you can get by trams 7 and 8 from the centre of Szczecin.

to go to BERLIN you can almost stand -on- the entrance ramp to the autobahn. there is only few cars driving around but who passes this point mostly is on a longdistance trip in the direction of germany. from here you can also see a petrol-station (on the field, near the autobahn) only 300 meters east. i tried to hitch from there but the station is almost dead - there were 10 cars passing by in half an hour. if no one takes you from the entrance ramp marked here (or the nearby petrol-station) you should walk another 3 km west along the autobahn to another two petrol stations where ther is definitly more cars that tend to fill-up.

in august 2009 i tried to reach berlin from this spot. there is many cars driving by (also cars with a german license plate), there is also a good (meaning: safe) chance to stop but after more than an hour no car was stopping. a while later someone took me to the nearby autobahn-interchange. on my personal rating from 1 to 10 (1 very poor to 10 excellent) i can rate this spot a '5'.

Tracks crossable - don't be shy. From a German POV: worth riding into Poland to get to this place, if stuck in north and going to Berlin.

Should be easy to find a truck going to Germany.
A guy from the gas station's crew offered to keep an eye on my things while I go around and ask. Really good spot.

Was here with a scouting group (well, first at the other station on the west which is useless).

We managed to get out of here within a time span of less than 2 hours. That's 23 people straight to Berlin!

Also, if you're coming from the bus stop and look at this direction and see a derelict station: you're looking at something else! this is further along (that's what sent me to the other, useless station)

Pretty good hitching location, got a ride within 30 minutes towards Gdansk. Do not expect to get there in one go, unless you are hitchhiking in the weekends, as many people don't travel that far during weekdays. However, hitchhiking along the road towards Gdansk is very doable.

I found the petrol station ok, but I agree, try to hitch to the next petrol station which is much bigger. One problem was that everyone went to Rostock or Denmark, but not to Berlin. I highly recommend NOT to accept an offer if someone wants to drop you on the A20 in the wrong direction (to Rostock), this autobahn is dead!!! Wait for someone who really goes to Berlin!!!
