A lot of tourists going back to Poland, Slovakia, Czechia and Austria. Lot of space for cars to stop. Also the gas station that is close has very nice staff. They gave me cardboard and a marker to write my sign.

Really good spot. But unfortunately didn’t have enough patience to wait for a direct car to Warsaw. Now I’m camping in the middle of nowhere 20 km from Kielce

Going to Krakow with a sign. Lots of people seemed to be local but with enough waiting I got a ride all the way to Krakow with 2 kind ladies.

The cars are going FAST, so stand in a place that gives drivers enough room to slow down. I was thumbing holding a "Polska" sign, hoping for a ride to Żywiec or Bielsko-Biała.

I got super lucky too - a truck pulled over at the bus stop, without even seeing me, just to fix his navigation. I assumed he had stopped for me, so I walked up and asked - he ended up taking me. Because of his navigation's mistake we had to turn around and go to Poland through Dolny Kubin and then Chyżne border crossing, which is the route I originally planned. After waiting with him for his mandatory 45-minute break, he took me to the outskirts of Kraków which was my ultimate destination :)

Very very low traffic(one car per 5minutes or less, sic!) even if expressway is nearby. I would not recomand it to stop there.

I was also aiming to go to Osvencim, but traffic is still local and I got little interactions. Got a ride to Wadowice, thumb.

Nobody stopping plus most license plates are local so chances of going beyond Kraków aren't high

One male 40+, a sign "Wroclaw", one small and ane big backpacks, a cloudy day (about to rain, but it didn't). Saturday. On my way from Budapest to Wroclaw.
A very nice looking spot. After a petrol station, an exit 100-150 m extra lane, which gives loads of space to stop. Good visibility. Quite busy traffic. But I waited 2,5 h for a ride.
I started at 15:00.
At 15:30 a German girl stopped and said she was going to Wroclaw, but in 3 h. We exchanged the numbers. She left and I put my thumb again up.
At 15:40 a guy offered me a ride to Krzeszowice. 20 kms west and off the highway. I turned down his offer.
At 16:00 another (male) hitchhiker, going to Gliwice, joined me.
At 16:20 a car going to Kuźnia Raciborska stopped. 130 kms west but off the highway again. If it wasn't for the German girl I'd have taken the ride. But I turned it down. The other guy went with them.
At 16:45 another offer to Krzeszowice by a woman. Again I said "No" coz it was off the highway.
At 17:10 the German girl called asking if I was still waiting and at 17:30 she and her boyfriend picked me up and took me all the way to Wrocław.
It looks it's very hard to get on the highway from here. But it's not hopeless spot if you are willing to travel off the highway or wait long.

2 males waited for a bit but got picked up by a guy mid 50s left us near the metro, he told us it wasnt a good spot because it was hard for the cars to stop

Perfect spot to head north towards Warsaw. Use a sign though. There's a bus stop where the cars can pull over and even a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights you could abuse to your advantage if you're evil enough.
