If you walk 10km from Coimbra heading to Porto, just make a big sign and stand clear for the cars, there is a turn after you for cars to stop. Traffic is rather fast ;p―Anonymous

We were two with a sign saying “5km?” heading direction east (serra da estrela). Caught a ride to Luso after 20mins!Great spot, since cars drive slowly by the roundabout and just behind theres space for them to stop:))

Long waiting time (like everywhere on our route trough portugal) but definitly possible to get the ride from here to Lisbon. More people showed us that they go north - direction Porto. We tried different places on N234 from Mealhada but this spot after the rondo and before pay-gates was so far the best.―Czajka

I will not recomend this spot - don’t get here by choice. But if you end up in here it’s definitely possible to get out. There is a small parking to stop cars safe. During 50 min 2-3 cars stopped to ask if we want to get to Coimbra, then finally we found somebody going to the east.―Czajka
