a great spot, however only aim for albufeira and try t be dropped on the highway rest area before there. i tried to go towards lisboa, no success, beja and évora didn't work, either. so i changed plans and headed to albufeira. can't think of a better spot in faro―andrej

a big rest area with hotel and restaurant. the staff is friendly and helpful. with barely any traffic an older portuguese couple picked me up on their way to olhão and ended up taking me all the way to faro. muito obrigado :)―andrej

Simply great. Enough space to stop cars and go to Faro down-town but you can try to go somewhere else (east or west). Less than 15 min.―Anonymous

It looks a good place but people simply don't stop. I tried twice waiting for 3 hours more and less. Cars goes very fast and used to be full (children, grandmother...). Maybe is better in low seasons.―Anonymous

Excellent spot. At present, they are doing some works on the road just past the roundabout, so there is plenty of room for someone to stop. Waited here about 5 minutes and got a lift all the way to Madrid (by using a sign saying Espana). Use a sign as cars are going in all directions, but it is really busy.―Anonymous

For us not the best spot. We were waiting there for 3 hours and after those hours under sun with paper "It's hot" stop us one girl who gave us ride closer to the center, but even there hard to get to A22 to Spain. For sure try the national one.―AmeliaCamelia

It is a good place how to get to Faro but the drivers go very fast. But it is possible beacuse there is a traffic :-) We waited for 15-20 minutes.―Anonymous
