Parking lot for visitors of the island. Every time the ferry arrives, it's easy go find somebody to take you back into the city of Tavira.―Anonymous

Gas station, plus passing cars can easily pull out. Just walk here from Tavira. Found someone to Loulé quickly.―Anonymous

Entrance to the highway - mainly used by cars going to Spain, so it´s not a good spot to hitch direction Faro and further west. If you´re coming from Vila Real de São Antonio, try reaching this place to hitch, because before there´s too much local traffic. Our experience (April 2015) - we were trying to get on the highway and after around 45 minutes a Ukrainian driver picked us up and changed the direction to the national road going to Tavira.―Ewelinalucy

Hitchhikers hell. After several hours got a 5 min ride up to the next roundabout. You can walk 3,5 km to the next gas station. It's quiet nice and big. It's a bit complicated to get there, but it's possible. We started to walk on motorway (but remember - it's not legal). After some 500m you will see a little trail going parallel the motorway. Climb over the fence and better use that one, it's way more safer. And it leads directly to the petrol station.―Anonymous

Waiting on the side of the road is a very good spot to get on the highway, much better the the one close to Tavira because it's after all tolls and all locals use it. We go to the spanish border in 5 minutes. When we were walking there, the police stayed close the roundabout and even they suggested us this spot. ;)―Anonymous

Not a lot of traffic, but enough to keep you well occupied if you talk to the drivers. Most of the drivers going to Faro; we managed to get a ride to the next service station.―Anonymous

Seems like a good spot to enter the highway, but still a lot of waiting for a ride and not so much help from the Portuguese drivers.―Anonymous

I wanted to go to Spain. I waited 2 or 3 hours then i changed my spot. I tried with and without sign. 6 cars stopped for me but they were going to Faro.―Meszabi

Es un buen lugar para hacer autostop.Los coches no van muy rápidos y hay bastante espacio para que te vean y se paren.
Espere unos 40 minutos al mediodía y luego me llevaron a la frontera.

Police is next to this spot, one policeman came to us and ask to go somewhere else cause it's dangerous to hitchhike here. We went to the other roundabout, south to this one.―Dudi
