Bebi. Sorry.

Most of the cars going to Porto, so it shouldn´t be a long wait for a ride going in that direction. My boyfriend and I had a bit longer wait for a ride to the center of Pombal (while we were hitching further east on IC8) and the driver got out of his route to bring us there. Still, recommended.

I went to visit Fatima with my sister and her friend. We went with bus form Lisbon, it took us almost 2 hours. We decided to hitchhike back. This was my first hitchhike ever. Drivers was responding here and traffic was good but there was three of us and many of them went to Porto direction. We been there for half an hour when FedEx car stopped at the crossing of the two roads and created little chaos in the traffic, me and my sister got ride and our friend was stayed there for more 5 minutes on his own. We get to Lisbon in 45 minutes!

Quite some local road traffic, just a long walk through neighbouring towns to the end of residential areas.

Logical place heading north but speed is quite high and some trucks stop there for shopping, reducing shoulder space sometimes to a minimum. A19 nov'12 had almost no traffic at all.

I thinkmitmisma good place for hitchhiking. People are going to Porto and there is a place for cars to pullover. We took a car in 2hoursmjust after we made a sign with "Porto" in it. I think it is worth to try

Good spot to hitchhike from Fatima. There is not so wide road for cars to stop, except the roads crossing, but when a driver is willing to stop for you he will stop.

Our driver left us here on the way to Lisbon. Seems like a good place, lot of space for the cars to stop, but it took us quite a long time to get a car going down the road. After 20 km we noticed that the traffic wasn't so intense and getting something directly to Lisbon wasn't very likely on that road.

Our driver left us in this place as he was turning to the villages. Not a lot of traffic, plenty of trucks who speed without any consideration to anything non-motorized. We got here almost at dusk and quickly took the decision to walk to Alcobaça and then see what happens.

People are little afraid to stop bc of hard traffic but it's a good place and also there is a parking and restaurant nearby, waited 20min and got straight to lisbon

Signs in general don’t seem to have worked for me so when I started asking people through Google translate I had much better results. Did this from 9:30am and at 11:20 a man was going to Fatima and said he can take me. March 8th during raining time and still all good. I’m sure you could find people straight to Porto or Coimbra but I wasn’t lucky enough
