One of the guy who work at the gazstation is very very nice. His name is Hugo, I hope you will meet him. We spent 3 hours together, in middle of the night, talking about stories, waiting for my drive. Awesome time.

I dont really know how to place points in here, so I will paste the description of the hitching place here

The place is a petrol station on a motorway. To get here go south from the city centre, i.e. when standing by Palacio de Gelo shopping centre take the street on your right, sloping downwards. You will pass the Jumbo petrol station, then Mercedes car salon, go further on. After half and hour of walking you will get to the big roundabout under the motorway bridge. Now the hard part, you need to walk alongside the motorway, but luckily for 5 mins only.
I was hitching here twice, and for the first time I got the lift to Aveiro after waiting some 1,5h, then went on asking the people, found a man willing to take me up. The second time I was going to Coimbra, and waited for half an hour when the guy gave me a lift.

We was two people here (guy and girl). Lot of car goes only in VISEU-CENTER and the truck-drivers declined because of they have only one place more in the truck.

After a long moment, we decide to ask to go in VISEU-CENTER and go outside VISEU by normmal road (not so good idea). The firt car-driver who we asked accepted.

Toward GUARDA - ESPAÑA.or VISEU-CENTER.

Gas-station in the highway.

Good trafic.

Hard to find a lift to GUARDA or SPAIN because very lot of people go only to VISEU-CENTER.

I knew it was a bad spot but still my best chance to to Spain and France. I was lucky enough to speak russian a bit and so after a while of asking around a nice Ukrainian truck driver gave me a lift to Palencia in Spain. Overall there is low and local traffic.

Great spot to get out of Tondela to Viseu. I got dropped off in Vila Chã de Sá and walked to the rest area that is on the highway.

This is a good spot for patient hitchhikers who get rides city by city and not to their destination. I came here on the way from Chaves to Coimbra by bus 51, paid 1,55€. Buses 5 and 31 are also coming and do stop closer. Good traffic, most of them are workers going to other small towns, one offered me a 15km ride but had me refusing when he warned me very low traffic is leaving that village, so I should wait here for a longer ride.
After a hour I opted for a Rede Expresso bus to Coimbra for 10€ through the app.

If you go to Spain, you have to look for cars with Spanish registration, and ask them if they can drive you straight to Spain. We got a lift to Salamanca.

The spot is good - gas station and small restaurant where many people stop for the dinner. But it took us (2 girls) so long to get out from here (people mostly travel very short distance or have full car).
