Got dropped there by my last driver which wasn’t ideal but the shoulder was big enough for cars to stop. Got a ride in a Moldova registered Porsche all the way to Bucharest, probably gained a whole hour by the outrageous speeds he was going on the national road.

Things got much better after I moved here from the spot lower down. I suggest having a sign to Brăila, as people won’t pick you up to help you unless they’re going the entire way (my driver was confused at first where I was going and I had to shout Brăila for him to stop).

Not very good as there’s no space to stop. Only had a bus stopping that wanted me to pay.

You can’t cross the border on foot but the guard was chill with me hitchhiking right before his post, even suggested I do so

Took me some time because I had a sign saying Comrat but eventually I got a ride all the way to the Romanian border at Giurgiulești.

You have to wait here fo a lift to moldova because you cant walk through the boarder. But in my case the police helped me with that!

Its easy to get here a lift to ukraine. A lot of turkish trucks are passing by here. If you wanna go to chisinau just ask some of the drivers. Maybe it will cost 1-2 euros.

Very good place, a lot of traffic; not a fixed position, you can try to go up and down the street and find the suitable spot depending on where cars are parked, etc. Public transportation has a stop at the crossroad on the left with Str Abatorului/Carantinei, and it's also the place where Maxi Taxi to Galati depart from. Sometimes Maxi Taxi drivers say it's not allowed to hitchhike there (it's not good for their business :) ). Don't mind them and go further on the street. It's not really worth paying from here to Galati, it's easy to find a free ride.

Direction Tecuci and past. Managed to get a ride all the way to Bacău (driver was going to Roman).

Tip: Go a bit further down the road to differentiate yourself from the locals. Same goes for having a sign rather than just thumb-up.

Not a great place for hitchhiking as vehicles are allowed to go at 70km/h legally (meaning they go faster than that). There is enough stopping space.
After 35 minutes a friendly local commuter stopped and told me it's not the best place to hitchhike, and took me to a better one down the road.
