It can be the perfect spot to reach bucharest easily if you're there between 17h and 20h. Go to the petrol station and ask truck drivers. Lots of them are going to bucharest overnight and they take easily, plus you can sleep in the truck.I did this twice and did not have to wait at all.
Good luck

There's a lot of international cars, easier way to get to Hungary and Szeged, even further. I asked just once :)―Morteaux

there is a gas station somewhere around, you can stand anywhere and all the cars go to Hungary.―Monnichqueh

There is a police station and sometimes police asks you to hitchhike further away, sometimes they ignore you. Anyway, be prepared to have your id/passport checked (again).―Ans

The trucks and cars go slowly after the border controls, most of the trucks are going to Budapest, Vienna and Italy. It is good also to ask the drivers at the petrol station.―Anonymous

A lot of drivers stop here to change money and get a vignette. Found my ride to Sibiu here in 5 minutes (but it might have been luck). From the border this is the main road east (if going via Arad), so all drivers and trucks will pass here. Ask people or just make a nice sign. Remember: 'fără bani (without money)'.―Anonymous

There is a small town and it's just over de border crossing. There are cars that drive more into Romania, so I think it could be a good spot. But when we were there, there were not many cars. We almost wanted to give up for the day but got super lucky and could drive with someone to Bucharest. So if you are lucky there are people driving further into the country.―Fleur

The cars can stop and drive quite slowly, but there aren't that many people that stop. I think many people stay in the city. In the end we did get a ride towards the bulgarian border.―Fleur
