This place is hard but doable.

Mostly no cars go to Montenegro here, but truck drivers go directly to Podgorica. I had to beg on my mom to get one truck driver take me at least to the border. He had to drop me before, because he had only driver seat in his cabin and didn't want any problems at control.

Overall, it has plenty of place for cars to stop, but barely anyone go to Monyebegro

It's a highway and there's a whole unused line for cars to stop. Traffic is going surprisingly slow and drivers can easily see you. Got a ride to Montenegro direction in less than 10 minutes.

Technically hitchhiking on the highway is illegal, but come on, who cares about rules in Serbia?

That's why I love Balkans where you don't get 150 euros fine for doing something innocent and nobody will ever snitch on you.

The Petrol station is barely visible on the map, but it is spot with few trucks and cars going to Nisz, Cacak or Pozarevac.

early august 2011 ; there are many options ; i wlked out of town from the other side, where not many people - not many tourists - go, mainly locals ; worked fine during the festival, as there are so many folks from every direction ! the roundabout side might be more fun though

It's crucial to get to the huge junction just out of Pozega. From there you can easily get a ride south (Arilje, Ivanjica), east (Cacak) and west (Uzice).

To go out from Guča, there are two roads: the one over Lučani and other over Čačak. Walk out from the town to roundabout with the monument of the trumpet player and choose one of these two roads. I recommend the first one. After getting to motorway number 5, take east for Čačak, Kraljevo... or west towards Užice and Bosnia.

A lot of space for vehicles to slow down and stop. Buses stop here regulary, as well. Direction Uzice, Zlatibor, Bosnia, Montenegro.

Don't go in this direction (for Cacak), the road is something like a viaduct and there is no place for cars to stop possibly until next juncion.
