It's a highway and there's a whole unused line for cars to stop. Traffic is going surprisingly slow and drivers can easily see you. Got a ride to Montenegro direction in less than 10 minutes.

Technically hitchhiking on the highway is illegal, but come on, who cares about rules in Serbia?

That's why I love Balkans where you don't get 150 euros fine for doing something innocent and nobody will ever snitch on you.

Was going Montenegro direction.

This place is not popular at all. Too small traffic and most of it goes to Cacak. Didnt get any ride for two hours, after that I went to hitchhike to the highway and got a ride very quickly

For going towards Gucha. There is a bus stop there, you will see people waiting. Accross the street and 20m up the hill starts the park dedicated to the victims of WWII

It's in the suburb of Cacak, not in Bajina Basta!

early august 2011 ; there are many options ; i wlked out of town from the other side, where not many people - not many tourists - go, mainly locals ; worked fine during the festival, as there are so many folks from every direction ! the roundabout side might be more fun though

Got a ride from a trucker here in 10minutes. He drove me directly to the main train station in Belgrade.
The road is single lane in each direction and it is very easy for cars to pullover.

To go out from Guča, there are two roads: the one over Lučani and other over Čačak. Walk out from the town to roundabout with the monument of the trumpet player and choose one of these two roads. I recommend the first one. After getting to motorway number 5, take east for Čačak, Kraljevo... or west towards Užice and Bosnia.

Big spot to pull over, loads of cars at a reasonable speed. A car stopped in 5 MIn but wasn't going to cacak, I declined and the next one 5 min later was going to ČAČAK. This spots catch all the cars from the ring roads going to cacak.

We wanted to go to Cacak. Not a lot of people drive are going there from this spot. We waited for 1h30 in the afternoon and again 30 minutes in the next morning after sleeping on the top of a hill nearby. No space to stop on the entrance of the highway.

Many trucks stop here. I talked with some drivers and got a ride in 20 minutes, to Cacak (but you can find truck driving to all directions).

Don't go in this direction (for Cacak), the road is something like a viaduct and there is no place for cars to stop possibly until next juncion.

After the roundabout. The cars are not fast, and there's space. I got a ride in 4 minutes to Uzice!
