You have to wait a little and cars have some space for stopping but it works. Got ride little bit further on my way towards nis

There is space to stop for a car but most of traffic turns left right before this spot and those who go further towards but after some waiting I found ride right to the Belgrade city center

Really good spot to go to Belgrade. Most of the traffic goes there. Got ride there very fast as cars go slow and there is a lot of space for you

Took the Bus 493 from Sava Centre and asked the driver to drop me off here and he kindly did.(If they dont you can try at the on Ramp where the bus goes off the highway, its a good distance already and currently all public transport is free)
There is no shade at this place.
With Sign to Niš/Sofia a guy stopped after 10 Minutes and said 100km but went to another highway and dropped me off at the next gas station. Staying here to get a ride to Niš would have been easier. He shared his smoke with me tho so the rest was more fun:)

One male one female, signed Milići in order to head to Zvornik (and ultimately Belgrade). Cars are going kinda fast but they can see you from a distance

The most wild hitchhiking experience in my life happened. Two guys driving out from the gas station said they could take us to Milići. Then on the way they said they could do Zvornik too. Eventually they said they could take us all the way to Belgrade -- and they did

They're from Serbia themselves (work in BiH?) and were driving a Belgrade car, so I supposed they had family/friends here. But if I understood correctly, they were initially heading back towards Han Pijesak after dropping us off in Milići (already the opposite direction of where they were going)

They treated us to snacks and drinks along the way and played cool music. The only unsettling thing was both of them each drank about 5 bottles of beer the whole way. I suppose they drink and drive often, and we arrived in Belgrade safely, but it could've not been the case

It was quite slow for Bosnia, which is also unusual because I am a single woman :) However, I first tried closed to the roundabout, which was a bad idea. After 30mn I decided to move. Just stand at the exit of the petrol station as indicated by the gps location of the green point on the map. The cars there are very slow and you can still hitchhike on the main road if you want !

Mostly local traffic but it’s by a stoplight so people get a chance to see you and think and there is space to pullover. Getting a ride to Novo Sad is fairly easy but further is a bit hard.

All the car traffic from the border goes through here. People drive very slowly and there is lots of space for them to stop. Got picked up by a Turkish family on vacation and they took us all the way to Belgrad. They even wanted us to go with them to Budapest the next day but we were cramped for time.

For Zagreb, you are better asking for people to get you to the toll station, at Šimanovci, about 15 minutes drive, and then hitchhike to Zagreb from there.

For Novi Sad, I was asking people around and got a ride eventually

Honestly seemed like the best spot for getting out of Belgrade, and the two times I’ve hitched it has worked. Cars are going fast but they’re all going in your direction. The first time I waited four minutes, the second time forty. Neither time were they going far, but as other comments mention get a ride to the tollbooth not far ahead and you’re set.

A lot of traffic but they are rolling fast when the road merge. Should have go closer from the toll station

Hard to say if it is a good spot, it was sunday and a lot of cars were full, it took me a long time just to make a few km to the toll station

I travelled by bus 73 to the NIS petrol station, and asked the drivers whether they go towards Novi Sad. A delivery guy with a freezer van took me to the highway, I wanted to get there to be able to continue my trip towards Hungary.

I think this is quite a good spot to get out of belgrade north. Held a novi sad sign and got a ride like in 30 mins. Ofc there is two lanes so a lot of times trucks are blocking for cars to stop but there is no space on ramp to stop and here cars go slowly and there is plenty space to stop for people going up the highway.
