Not perfect, not the biggest traffic and zero cover from sun(at least when you are standing with your thumb at the exit) but it works and there was an abandoned tire that I put in place where I was standing to sit on it so if somebody will be hitchhiking over there in near future it may still be there for you 🙂

Not really a good spot but there isn't anything better for Nis direction here. Traffic is bigger for Belgrade direction but disproportion in traffic volume isn't massive in opposition to previous spot. Also you can sleep in forest next to a gas station if you need to

There is no gas station anymore.
Not many people at all here.
If you get here anyway you should enjoy the garden, lake and bridge over the lake and see this beautiful spot.
The few trucks who stop here are all local.
Toilet and Water from the restaurant were allowed to be used by me and eventually a local drove me to the city toll station.
Not before buying me drinks and a big lunch :) Friendly people here

Good Shade, Market and WiFi.
Sign Nis/Sofia
It can be a good spot to hitchhike but i think i just got quite unlucky since most cars were full. People were really nice and brought me water, energy drinks and good conversation so the wait was nice. I feel like sticking to tolls/rampas is more efficient in Serbia tho.
(And dont get off at the station i got to)

Solo female, asked around. Picked up by a super nice Russian couple going to Niš for the jazz festival

fuckass spot, noone would stop, traffic is good, but most cars were completaly full, then 2 stray dogs pulled up and I started petting them, i suppose this boosted my aura and we managed to get a ride to Niš

Waiting for long time, lots of turkish trucks passes to the bulgaria and turkey direction but not very willing to pick up hitchikers. Long waiting time but possible to find a ride all the way to sofia or istanbul

Can be reached by 15min after last stop of bus 54 which starts from Metro Slivnitsa.
Got picked up by two Serbian girls on their way back home.

The best spot for the area. Waiting directly at the toll booth/ticket machine works better than in front. Works for hitchhiking north and south, so a sign makes sense.
On a Tuesday noon about 2-3 cars per minute passed.

Autokomanda is a solid place to hitch out from Belgrade in direction of Nis. A ‘Rampa’ sign helps a lot.

HH at 8 AM in "Autokomanda". One of the best spots in Belgrade to go south along A1 highway. Got a lift to my destination (Paraćin) with a driver, who was going somewhere close to Macedonian border.

I don't recommend hitchhiking southward from either this toll booth or the roundabout before it. Many cars at the roundabout are going to Belgrade, so this toll booth has few cars passing through (about 1 car every 2min). One of the two lanes is for cars with automatic payment so they don't even slow down

Walk a little more to the gas station just north of Ćuprija instead
