From center of Vranje, walk towards highway, it takes about 40 minutes. You can hh on the on-ramp, but there is also a "parking lot" just 20m down the road with mobile toilets and more space for cars to stop, which I found it better―Mileagainst

weird place :)dogs everywhere (but they're harmless), policemen hitching around, but you'll find a lift. have a MK sign and you'll get to the boarder. or to the petrol station close after Čukarka (its close to the boarder)

Petrol station next to Vranje. Cars on the highway are not going very fast for some reason, and they can see you for like 500 meters away. Also plenty of space to stop, even for trucks. Got a ride in a truck to the Macedonian border using a sign MK.―Anonymous

Do not go there. The gas station is not workkng anymore. There is just a little shop. We got here in the night so we had to hitchhike on the highway because no car stopped here. We got lucky and got a ride to Belgrade with some truck driver.―Untroubled_travelgirls
