A big and crowded gas station in direction Maribor/Budapest in our case. Lots of trucks and personal cars willing to stop. I suggest standing with a sign at the end of the parking lot.

We wanted to go to Trieste but could only find people going to Ljubljana. To get to Ljubljana from there shouldn't be hard.

2 people, a girl and a boy. We couldn't get out of Vransko from either of the spots, because they're outdated and no one uses the old road anymore. This way people go on the highway so you have a better chance here. Sign to LJ.

We tried it with a sign at the end of the gas station, but it was too late and it was a thursday evening, so not a lot of cars. After 1 hour of trying we asked a croatian couple to give us a ride and they did, all the way to Rijeka. Also a tip: if you want to sleep in Rijeka, try the beach. definitely the best spot. The one we slept on is the Glavanovo beach, there is a lot of stairs to get there so no poeple want to go there at night and you have your own personal shower and swimming pool in the morning! Also locals don't care about people sleeping on the beach.

Take any ride to the middle of the valley. One guy drove me for 10min and that eliminates 70% of the drivers. Than i got a ride to Maribor in 2 minutes.

After 2 minutes of waiting with a sign “Vransko” somebody stopped and drove me to Maribor.

We were trying to get a lift to Ljubljana in the evening. Many cars but most of them are fully packed for holidays, or did not stop. We slept in the fields next to the station and tried again next morning. After one hour we got a lift towards Ljubljana. Asking people at the Gas station or the Restaurant might be more succesful. Still it is a good spot I think.
