Such a bad place to wait car. There are a lot of gasoline on the way so petrol station is almost empty.

Good luck!

Yes, there are not many people in the gas station, but there are some people around the restaurant and Burger King. And a far amount of people does go on longer distance rides, not so much local traffic anymore. In my experience the best service station in southern madrid (hitched this route 3 times now)

This station has a lot of local traffic, as it has a car wash and is close to a commercial area. It's best to ask drivers whether they go to Ocana (just a bit further south) and then get dropped at the petrol station in Sesena Nuevo.

In february, I gave up after 4 hours without any ride. In 4 hours I saw only 2 cars going at least to the next gaz station on the highway, but both were full. It's probably better in the summer though.

I was going to Grenada and after 30mn waiting I found one to Cordoba, almost 2/3 of the road :) Good! There is a petrol station + a little cafetaria.

Trying to get a lift to Granada, arrived around lunch time and waited for about 2 hours before getting a lift as far as Puerto Lápice (just past Madridejos).

Big gas station. We waited 45 minutes and found a direct ride to Granada.

Good spot. I arrived there with a truck and he enter in the warehouse of El Corte Ingles, and here you can really found trucks that will go everywhere in Spain. Not a good spot if you are not traveling alone, because here there are just trucks!! If you don't find a lift you can always take the bus that stop there nearby, and with 3,60 euro you will arrive in Madrid!! Good luck!!

There is a gas station and cafeteria with good amounts of trucks coming. I was here twice, at 1:30-3:00 am and then at 6:30 in the morning. At night time there was nice amount of trucks, but still - a lot of trucks goes to the industrial zone and not further.
Maybe it was because I didn’t knew how to catch a truck, but I had hard time hitching for a ride in the morning aswell, and at the end I stood with a sign and thumb at the exit to catch cars that have filled their tanks and cars that only pass here to cut the line off the main road.

Good staff at the service station. You can buy some snacks here.

No place for cars to stop, very bad spot.

This is a terrible place. I thought I will manage to catch more rides here than the service station because people come also from other directions to get on the road.
Well, I was wrong. Trucks won’t stop just like that. And the people doesn’t stop although there’s some room.
I had luck with an extremely nice woman.

I don’t how you people autostop from here. I’m sure it’s possible but just tell me the way. It’s a big road with a looot of cars that don’t have where to stop nor how to see you. On top of that when you go to Madrid the cars nearest to you are not going there so you won’t pick anyone near you. The only idea I had was to ask people on the red light, but as I said it would be people on the middle of the road and I didn’t want to risk being there when the light turns green. I’m disappointed I tried both ways out of Burgos to Madrid and both are bad, I’ll have to take a bus :(

Not that many cars, but they have to go slow and a lot of space to stop. Probably best spot in town. Got a lift to Madrid.

Not a bad spot to catch a ride towards france or the north in general. We were dropped here at night and slept in a field nearby - its easy to sleep in many places in the nearby industrial area.
For the spot itself, there are not that many cars but still enough going to the north. I recommend. Asking around will as almost always be your best bet.

The cars that go to Madrid will rather pick the other entrance for the highway. Here the car are going all different directions and in the time I waited nobody stopped and I’m sure that if somebody would stio, he wouldn’t be going to Madrid.

This is a good service station with restaurants. There’s traffic of trucks and cars. I made the mistake of going to ocaña. DO NOT be tempted to do the same to get further in your travels. Ocaña is dead for hitchhiking.
I believe if you’ll be patient you can find a ride here that is more long distance.

Short wait, good place for cars to pull over.
