Arrived at the spot in the evening. We asked anyone who stopped but no one wanted to take us, either the cars where full or there where going to the wrong direction. After 1-2 hours we decided to call it a day and sleep there. Also not the best place to spend the night, it’s really loud and bright everywhere. In the morning we tried again, after another two hours we found a German guy who took us all the way to Valencia. It’s a tough spot. All in all there are a lots of cars but most of them a already fully packed. But maybe if you speak spanisch it’s easier to get a ride.At the end still ok because we are two woman and always felt safe.

Great spot, 10min walk from Benidorm Internodal Train Station. The walk is a tiny bit sketchy but it works. You NEED a sign, we were lucky and got to valencia in 10min :)―TajineMachine

We (2 people) got a ride to Barcelona after waiting about 100 minutes and asking people at the parking area and gas station. Most people were heading south or towards Zaragoza. Still, it’s a good spot because you can easily talk to people and there’s a steady flow of cars.―ninchenbienchen

Day before (Sunday) I came here at around 3 pm and nobody took me till next day but next day it took me only 2 hours to get a ride to a gas station on outskirts of Murcia. Unfortunately there is no space for tent nearby thanks to a big grass but you can just sleep on it without a tent in summer aldo you probably will end up getting bitten by a lot of mosquitoes like me―Anonymous

If going down to Javea, Oliva, Denia, etc., good place. Cars don't go too fast and have a place to pull over after the bus stop. From here, caught one of those rides that makes hitchhiking all worth it. :)))―ChristianaSammal

Knowing waiting times and average distances in Spain I think I was pretty lucky. Near this spot there is place to set up a tent in woods nearby between gas station and railroad, it's guarded by a fence but there is place where you can easly cross over it without jumping over it―Anonymous

It's a calm but still flowing gas station. You get traffic from both directions and some local traffic. Took me almost two hours but many people had full cars or went the other direction.―Menno

It took quite a while to get ride, but we’re two guys. Our sign was to Barcelona, but we got ride to Benicarló. There’s faucet for water and toilet close so it’s good place. Also some hills where you can camp like us. The view was pretty nice.If you’re traveling alone, there’s plenty of trucks to ask for rides.

Two guys trying to get ride to Barcelona. No luck after couple hours of waiting. Two many lanes so it’s hard to stop from further ones. We took train to Pucol where is better spot. Train was 2,10€―Slocrowth

A nice guy picked us up, he even got us some food. There was no metro because of the catastrophic flooding in Valnecia and he was volunteering there.Betera in general is a good spot to hitchhike 😁🌱

Did not work for us. This is where we learned that hitchhiking in Spain can be horrible.―TillWenke

Walked out here from Tarragona. Also it was not possible to get a ride here from Tarragona. No chance going to Valencia. This is where we learned that hitchhiking in Spain can be horrible.―TillWenke

If you are anywhere within the Valencia Cercanias area, including Gandia or even Castelleon (even going north!), please take the train to Les Valls and use this spot. From the station, walk a few hundred metres over the bridge and down the dirt road, pick an orange, before climbing over the fence. Hold out a sign for France, Barcelona, or for south, Murcia, Alicante, wherever... This place works day and night, and guarantees you a much faster ride on the AP-7 instead of waiting hours elsewhere for a ride on the N-340!―Anonymous

No car took us in 3 hours, so we took the bus and went to the highway gas station, which was another 2 hour trip.―Anonymous
