I waited 45 minutes. I got a short ride to Karstad.

One male 40+, with a sign "Oslo", one big and one small backpacks, sunny and warm day. Going to Oslo.Not too good place. Quite little traffic (a car every 2 minutes). Not really a place to stop. But cars go really slowly and there is good visibility.
I waited only 15 minutes. The fact that I was wearing a t-shirt with a big Polish emblem helped me loooads. A Polish couple, who stopped, told me that they had done it only coz they saw that t-shirt.
They were superb nice and took a bit longer way to drop me after Kristinehamn.
I'm not sure how long I'd have to wait if I didn't have the t-shirt.

Somewhere (not entirely sure where exactly) on this road there is a gas station where losts of cars from BOTH directions stop. Also trucks, but most traffic going to Oslo when i was there (morning at 10am). You can ask the ppl at the gas station and as well stand next to the road, as visibility is ok (on top of a hill and speed is not that high (70). I waited about 30min until somebody picked me up and by coincidence he drove all the way to Stockholm.―Anonymous

Good spot to get a truck ride to Oslo or to Stockholm. Just take bus 500 or 501 from Karlstad to Väse and then just walk couple hundred meters.―Anonymous

bus stop on the E18 towards Göteborg and Oslo. I was going towards Oslo and my ride was going southwest so i asked to be dropped off in Grums, thats the last town before the roads Split.―dr4c3k
