You can hitch up the Mountain only 40 minutes every 2 hours, then it's closed for 20 minutes, and then traffic goes the other way around for 40 minutes. Make sure to inform yourself about the hours and time your start.This is a good spot for going up the mountain.

This is not a good spot unfortunately. We tried to get a ride south to Interlaken around 16:00 and nobody picked us up despite lots of traffic. There are grocery stores nearby and a place to pull over but nobody stopped anyways. Eventually it was too late to do what we wanted to do in Interlaken so we called it quits. Horw is just not a good place for hitching―scotty1
