25 april 2015 the Swiss Hitchhikers championship was held. At leas 4 teams got stuck here, it was a cloudy day and we were going in direction of the Gotthard tunnel. We the first to leave got out of there in 2 h 30 min. We decided to take a ride to Kriens. The last team to leave waited for 5 h and 30 min. I hear this can be a pretty good spot but that day it was a trap.―Anonymous

Quite busy rest area (going south) with petrol station, shop and restaurant. (Also parking and shop on the other side, northwards.) You can eiher walk around the parking talking to people directly or stand/sit here at the exit with a sign. There is nice space to stop and cars are slow.If your driver only goes to Luzern, but you are in a hurry to continue along the A2 or A8, this might be the spot to change at.
Also, there are many nice spots for a tent in the forest below.

It's a good spot towards Sarnen and Obwalde for example. But if you are going to Zurich, never get out here! It's a trap with everyone going to Zurich on another route. We ended up walking to a busstation after 3 to 4 hours waiting time, and took a Bus to luzern.―161nasty

This is a good spot to go up to Basel, cars are semi frequent but many are headed north to Basel. There’s a Coop nearby for groceries and food. Place for cars to pull over at the bus stop. Also word of advice don’t take rides from a Romanian guy he was kinda creepy. We instead waited a bit longer and got a ride from a train operator headed to work in Basel.―scotty1

We had bad luck here trying to get North to Basel. Lots of traffic but lanes make it hard for people who are willing to pick you up to get to you in the first place. Hotel worker lady didn’t seem to want us there. If you want to get to Basel try taking the bus to Emmen I marked our spot there―scotty1

Picked up in short order by a lesbian couple going to Luzern. We had a great time together, we stopped for an hour so they could show me the city, got dinner, and then they drove me up to a rest stop so that I could continue to bern―doktorgonzo

Harder than one would think to get to Bern. A lot of people going in that direction but not all the way (e.g. Solothurn, Olten). Eventually took a ride with a cool guy going to Solothurn who bought me Kebab before dropping me off at a rest station pretty close to Bern―doktorgonzo
