It's an easy spot for hitchhiking. This highway goes directly to Bangkok. I hitchhiked from the same spot in 2024 and 2026 and only waited 10 minutes.

Good spot, not too much shade, got picked up and dropped further down but is probably a really good spot to get a lift right down south

Pretty good spot, hid in the shade of a signpost. Lots of space for cars to stop. Trucks too. Had 6 people stop, ask if I was ok, and offer to take me to the bus station. Difference between Thailand and Cambodia was very obvious.

Awesome stuff. People stop without you even asking. Be prepared to tell them you don't want a taxi or a bus station otherwise they might take you there. Great spots all along the highway.

Getting out of Bangkok is something of a nightmare, but if you can get anywhere along this road, you're in for a treat. Super fast pick-ups from lovely people.

PTT gas station - This is one of the best spot in Bangkok to hitchhike south. I was going south, then I wrote a sign to Samut Songkhram (สมุทรสงคราม) first, but the car only took me to Samut Sakhon (สมุทรสาคร), 10 km away.

You can get a cardboard from automobile shop at the end of gas station

** PTT station is the best gas station to hitch a ride in Thailand.
