I only had to wait 45 mins because there were police here doing random checks. The police were cool and took pictures with me and whatnot but I think they scared off people who would have stopped. After a bit a truck driver asked them if he could pick me up and i got a lift straight to Samsun (it did take 2 days as our truck only went 80kms/h and we lost breaks.)But hella good spot - use a sign
Also room for sleeping rough the back and lots of cardboard

Wasnt hitchhiking at the time as I had resigned to walk the 3 hours to the Starbucks on the highway. Sat at a ÇiĞKÖFTECi place (right near this pub) and not only had some of the best food, but also a great chat with the guy running it and his friends before they said they would drop me to the Starbucks (00:30)―Kjmurray1230

You can get to this spot by the 966 but after u get to the end of the metro (I think it only takes credit card as mine didn’t work so they just let me on for free)It’s not the best spot, but there is lots of traffic and room for cars and trucks to pull over. It is on a hill so often the cars are in the outer two lanes.
I had a sign for uşak but lots of truck drivers point up saying they were going north.
A truck pulled over after about 30 mins and said he was going up towards Istanbul and I just took it
