For heading north (towards Bristol).
There is a small bus stop, slow moving traffic due to traffic lights and good visibility.
Picked up in 20minutes.

Sedgemoor Services . Slightly harder to go North ,as they can't see you before entering the motorway . Southbound is no problem

Cars can't really pull over safely. They need to stop on the middle off the road in front of the busstop. Cars drive slowly because of roundabout and traffic.

We wanted to head to exeter. Really busy in summer. Very easy to find rides, most of them heading to cornwall

Apparently cars cannot stop at the bus stops as it is illegal due to the yellow lines. We got lucky as someone from the university took us towards a service station on the M5.

Caught a ride to service station near Bristol. Cars are going quite fast, however they can pull over at the cafe if they can read your sign well enough.
