Picked up by two lovely Italian tourists. There are long sections of parking on both sides of the road at this point, so it's easy for drivers to pull in. Due to the exposure and lack of public transport, a lot of people will take pity on you and offer to drive you west (to Glossop) or east (to Sheffield).―HearHere

You can't walk next to this A6 road!! So if you want to go in the Peak District you have to go with car! It's not the best place, but cars can stop and it;s sure that they are going into the National Park from here....―Anonymous

Not a suitable place to turn out, and traffic is a little fast, but I still managed to get someone. They turned back and got me. They were a wonderful old couple who go out for a pleasure drive in this gorgeous countryside every week. They were delighted to take me to my destination in Edale and buy us dinner at the Inn there! This is why I hitch hike!―HoopRider
