Fantastic spot! Great traffic flow on a Saturday. Bring a sign because traffic could be going a lot of different directions.―Ryancomet

I had bad luck hitching at the services, so I tried the hotel. Not great, but I got a long ride to Glasgow. So a win.―mossenmoons

There's a traffic light for the traffic going down to the M8 direction Ednburgh... walking on the side of the road showing a sign when the light is read should work. I waited 15 minutes to get a lift to Edinburgh but I was proposed almost immediately a lift to Stirling.―Anonymous

There are many laybys in the Loch Lomond area. Probably the best one is one mile out of the village of Balloch, where local trains from Glasgow terminate. There is a lot of traffic, the layby is wide and it also doubles as a bus stop - buses from Glasgow Bus Station to the Isle of Skye, Campbeltown and Oban stop here.―Anonymous

This roundabout is a bit chaotic, but you'll get somebody to pull in where the marker is. If you are several people, take strategical positions, so cars coming from the south and the east can see you a bit earlier.―Anonymous

I was hitching to Fort William and got a lift within 10 mins on a Monday afternoon at 3.30pm to Tyndrum. Lots of traffic at this time and the cars have to slow down for the roundabout. There is plenty of room for cars to pull into the turnoff to the left so that you can get in.―Anonymous

The two of were Hithching to Gleoncoe and got a ride in 15 minutes by a Audi quattro convertible. The guy was driving through the glen 100 mph and we had a sunny day! It was the best drive of my life. :DWe got here for free because of the friendly employees at the Queen street railway station in Glasgow!

We waited about 45 mins., holding a sign "Aberdeen". Many people just shook their heads, saying "no", many pointed at us and laughed as if we were animals in a zoo. Only one guy stopped, but he told us he's for Manchester.―AvalancheMaster

Pretty fine place to thump up. In mz case, I got a lift immediately, cause cars were stucked in the traffic jam so they had time to check both me and my sign. [there was diverted traffic in that time]―Fatduck
