There's a traffic light for the traffic going down to the M8 direction Ednburgh... walking on the side of the road showing a sign when the light is read should work. I waited 15 minutes to get a lift to Edinburgh but I was proposed almost immediately a lift to Stirling.―Anonymous

We waited about 45 mins., holding a sign "Aberdeen". Many people just shook their heads, saying "no", many pointed at us and laughed as if we were animals in a zoo. Only one guy stopped, but he told us he's for Manchester.―AvalancheMaster

If you're taking the 6 or 6a bus, DO NOT get off here, it goes much further to better spots. If you're walking from Kelvingrove or the west end this is an acceptable spot to reach for free. There isn't a perfect place to stand as there are guard rails blocking you from the view of cars, so you must wait next to the petrol station and the car must pull into the petrol station to pick you up. Only got a ride to Dumbarton, but it's better than waiting here!―Anonymous

If you want to get out of the city centre then this is an average spot. The problem is that much of the traffic isn't going far. You might wait 2 hours and get a ride to Bothwell services, which aren't great either. Usage of a sign is highly recommended.―Anonymous
