This hitch-hiking spot lies just next to a bus stop, and just after a pedestrian crossing, so the traffic passing this point is quite slow. Good for getting onto the M3―Anonymous

This is a bit of a special spot - it can be very rewarding if you're going north (don't bother if you're going south, service stations are a much better bet) - but it's super hard work to find the right spot to ask around (for example short term parking spots, although there are a lot of taxi drivers and people going to london), and there is so much going on... plus airport security might not really like you so much.―Anonymous

It 's forbiden to stay anyway at Heathrow with a sign. I tried to wait at Arrival hall on Terminal 1, by taxi drivers. When you see taxi driver going out with olny one person just ask them about lift to center. I got ride with first person I asked.―Anonymous

Would have to agree that airport security can be cagey. There is a free travel zone operating around the airport on the tube/buses which will get you to the A4 or A30 (Hatton Cross tube station) which would be far safer areas to hitch from.http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/gettingaround/maps/buses/pdf/heathrowterminals123-13970.pdf

The traffic lights on the roundabout may be the only chance to get a lift on M25 from Staines or around. Cars have no space to pull over so you need to be quick.―Anonymous

You can stop here the cars going from London on M25. Generally a bad roundabout to hitchhike but there is nothing better around.―Anonymous

Great spot for those heading to Portsmouth, there's a small sideway spot just after the intersection. Spent there a minute.―Anonymous
