Me and a friend waited only 15mins at around 7:30am and got a lift going to London. We stood just before the petrol station. It worked well as people are slowing down because of the lights and can pull in to the petrol station easily if they want to pick you up. Staff also let us use the toilet there.

It doesn't look like a great place as there's not much room to pull in but I've hitched twice from here and never waited more than a few mins. Good for getting to Brighton as it's just before the motorway (M23). Get the bus to Redhill and get off when you see the flyover. After 1 hour of waiting at the eastbound exit with a "M1" sign two cars stopped at the same time: one going to Luton and another to Sheffield.

Stood at the eastbound extrance with a sign "Dover" and got a lift to Maidstone Services within 10 min.

Me and my girlfriend wanted to go to Brighton and within ten minutes we were offered a ride to a more hitchikable spot, closer to M23

You can stop here the cars going from London on M25. Generally a bad roundabout to hitchhike but there is nothing better around.

Great spot for those heading to Portsmouth, there's a small sideway spot just after the intersection. Spent there a minute.

Good spot to hitch. There's a traffic light before so people aren't driving too fast to read sign, and there's a bus stop soon after they can pull over in.

A lot of offers for Brighton. I took a lift to Eastbourne even though I was wanting to get to Dover. Got lucky after though :)

Had a few requests here trying to get to Dover, although most people were heading to Brighton as it was a sunny Friday.

People will offer to drop you off closer to the M23 at least.

We were dropped here by our previous ride. He used to be an hitchiker and told us this was the best spot to go to Brighton. In less than 10 minutes we got a ride.

It took a long time to get a ride but people around me were super helpful and in the end I got a great ride to Eastbourne
