LONG ASS WAIT. Lots of full cars on holiday that couldnt take us, or fancy folk on fancy holidays. I think we got really unlucky here. 1 guy 1 fem wheelchair user.

Great spot. Got ride to Penrith on my way to Scotland. Was on a place closer to the exit than on the map.

Great spot. Took a train from Manchaster here and camped for a night nearby. Can only recommend.

If coming from the Isle of Man, arrange a ride on the ferry! Many cars going in many directions.

Good spot for going to Liverpool or Manchester (except when there's a football crowd), but you'll be hard pressed finding anything going further south.

Stand on the corner where the trucks go past, we managed to get a lift down to the services before the M^/M5 branch.

Got dropped off here begin of April. Got a ride at 6pm within 5min with my sign saying "M6 North". Waited after the petrol station. But you can even ask people at parking area.

Good spot to go northbound. Just got dropped of there and waited about 10 min.

Also possibility to cross Motorway!

Going southbound.
Traffic is slow but single lane only. No place for cars to stop.
Better for local routes e.g. Preston

I was quite lucky to find a ride which took me all the was to Lancaster. However it's a good spot with lots of space for cars to see you and then stop. Not very busy though. I was there on a Monday morning at about 10:30

Great spot, got a lift almost immediately (although that’s luck too). Can’t imagine waiting here for over half an hour as all cars are going north and there’s a steady stream of them. Plenty of service stations that are easy to hitch out of on the way
