Cars going fast. But the turn off gives some an opportunity to stop for you

Low traffic. But likely heading to Oxford. Got a lift from the first car I saw after walking here from the Folly

Small layby opposite Cirencester College. Its a bit of a walk from the town centre, but excellent spot for a lift to Stroud or beyond.

A layby. It's a fast road so best to stand well ahead of the layby to give drivers time to see you and pull in.

This is one from the spots from which you can go very fast, direction Wales. There is a place to stop, good visibility for drivers, and if you got a sign, you will be out of there in half an hour, which is not bad at all for this region :)

Membury Services is 350 metres up on Lambourn Down and a remote place on M4 .

Got picked up surprisingly quick but think we got lucky. The guy actually saw us and turned around. Try it further up the road where there's more space to brake

It’s a place hard to park,it’s better go to somewhere with the sidewalk.i arrive here in Sunday afternoon 7pm,I thought I have to stay here for a night (1h go to train station),but a nice guy picked me up.the traffic signals is changing fast, maybe it’s a good place to the town, but I was randomly dropped off here so it’s fine for me.

don't know if I was lucky, but I got a lift all the way to near Swindon (could've gone to Heathrow!).
they've got plenty of time to size you up coming out of the petrol station but put Bristol or M4 to cast the biggest net if you're going that way.
I tried once using this spot for heading north, which is much much harder to do

Has a good truck stop and fuel station to ask around at. Great if you’re heading to Oxford or east. Didn’t find a soul heading west. Not many places for a car to stop on the interchange nearby

A bit of space for cars to stop but plenty of opportunity for them to see you. Many roads further up though, plenty of offers for short lifts or towns you’re not going to

Plenty of cars slowly making their way past right before hitting the motorway. Great for northbound travel. Not the perfect spot if you’re going east to the Cotswolds but I got lucky
