I find lifts in Oxfordshire take a bit longer than average. Good spot for cars to stop in the bus bay. Despite the rain made it halfway to London!!

Oxford Services - used by motorway (M40) and local traffic (A418) in all directions.

A40 Eastbound truck stop.
This is a fantastic place to get a lift to the South, as most M40-Southbound traffic from Oxford goes past this truck stop.

There's a great hitching spot for going into Oxford from here.

Towards London or the Services.

Hitched to London in front of the Park n Ride. Had a sign with "M40" on it, but should've written "London" Got 2-3 offers for short trips, but held out for a ride to London. Total wait: 30 min. Great thing is if you don't get your ride to London, can always catch the bus at Park n Ride.

my parents live at the top of the hill so I have tried this route a few times and the only times I got picked up were by a family friend, my father picks up hitchhikers sometimes though so you never know...

Hitchhiking with sign "London M40", the traffic is pretty fast, but I think it's the best spot to get to London, most of the traffic goes that direction. Got 2 cars at once asking me if I wanna go.. wasn't all the way to Central London but was quite close

On the way to Oxford.. when heavy traffic, you can get someone on traffic lights

A decent amount of traffic. Likely due to Easter. You can ask around or stand here, slow road with a spot for cars to pull into
