Asked the first guy, got a ride to exeter services. He offered to take me a bit further too. Classic and kinda down to earth car, helped a bit probably. 4 stars coz it could be a fluke―Charky

Summer solstice. Trying to go west (all the way to london and scotland apparently easier). Lots of hippies etc, easy to get a ride in general, but from what i heard, the tradition of celebrating the solstice at stonehenge and then going to glastonbury is now over (as told to me by a 50-yo taxi driver), so will be more difficult than in the past to go west―Charky

There is possibility for a car to stop but this spot would be only good for reaching Dorchester; the traffic is dense and Yeovil is not the place to be―Anonymous

Brilliant place to hitch towards Dorchester. There's a nice pull in area and traffic is slow off the mini-roundabout.From Dorchester, you can easilly head towards Bournemouth and Poole.

There is a bus stop on both sides of the road, however there is a nice lay-by on the south direction, where it's easy to get a ride (Done that 4 or 5 times, always quick). In my experience, the drivers are usually going towards Ilchester, not Langport. There's no lay-by here going towards Glastonbury. The traffic is fairly busy and thus drivers won't be very keen on stopping.―Anonymous

West towards Langport. There's a nice gravel lay-by. Speed isn't high and the amount of traffic is just about right.―Anonymous
