I wouldn't suggest trying to hitch North/East on I-80 after noon. Many many commuters, tons of people laugh at you, thinking you're destitute or joking, I don't know. It was a terrible feeling so much that I decided to quit thumbing after a couple hours and walk to another spot.

Tons of cars entering the highway here, though most are commuters. You can definitely land a ride to Sacramento if you have a sign, but further than that might be a stretch from this location.
