hitched SB out of Dubuque, traffic moving too fast with the rolling hills to really be seen from the shoulder, even with the busy 1pm roads on a Friday. I see quite a few hitchhikers get rides from the Casey's on Rockdale, but got a ride from a family headed to Bettendorf w/in an hour―PiperDakotaPilot

This is the location of the largest truck stop in the world! People that don't hitchhike think that getting rides from truckers is super easy because they go so far, but the truth is that many of them have insurance reasons that they can't pick people up. I got fooled 3 times at this location from truckers that were pulling over on the shoulder of the on-ramp, but they were not pulling over for me. After about 2 hours in the hot sun, I got a woman to give me a ride for about a half an hour down the road. Lots of traffic here, but most of it is semi trucks that won't pull over. Still a decent hitching spot.―Anonymous

I got a ride hitching here in 10 minutes. The guy took me a few miles to the largest truck stop in the world!! It was a short ride and I had to cross the highway bridge to get to this spot, but it is definitely a great place to hitch!―Anonymous
